Enabling Biocatalysis
Altozyme's proprietary cofactor regeneration platform unlocks a class of enzymatic chemistry that has been inaccessible at industrial scale — until now.
What we do
One third of all enzymes require cofactors — molecules like NAD⁺ and NADP⁺ — to function. At $25,000–$230,000 per mole, these cofactors are hard to scale. Existing regeneration methods produce inhibitory byproducts that defeat the purpose.
Altozyme has developed a novel route for regeneration that allows indefinite cofactor recycling, without byproducts and contamination.
This unlocks a broad class of stereoselective enzymatic chemistry — enabling synthesis of chiral and deuterated molecules that are currently inaccessible or prohibitively expensive to make.
We're in active conversations with fragrance houses, CDMOs, and research partners. If you work in specialty chemicals, fragrance R&D, or pharmaceutical process chemistry — we'd like to hear from you.
